Travel Journalism

I’m a career changer with invisible disabilities who made an unusual transition from firefighting to travel writing. I won participation in the Talking Travel Writing Mentorship scheme 2024, and the Intrepid Travel Diversifying the Travel Media Scheme 2024. I was also shortlisted for the Step Up Travel Writing Internship Program.

I have been commissioned by Bradt Guides, the world's leading independent publisher of guide books, to write 'The Bradt Guide to the Turkish Riviera'.

I am the Associate Editor of Arrival Magazine, a travel, culture and lifestyle publication launching in print and online. The first section is dedicated to all that is new in London, from bars and restaurants to exhibitions and attractions. The second section takes readers elsewhere to explore new and unique experiences and products around the world.

I am mentored by award-winning writer Antonia Windsor.  I've recently written for The Guardian, Wellness and World Magazine, Family Traveller, Adventure.com, tripreporter.co.uk and Weather2Travel. 

 I currently work as Associate Editor for Arrival Magazine.

I was previously Associate Editor of luxury travel magazine Beau Monde Traveller, Associate Editor of academic journal Studies in Social and Political Thought, and Associate Editor of lottery-funded creative writing magazine Tall Tales and Modern Fables.

Turkey 

I spent several years living in Turkey, and have travelled extensively across the country, including to Mardin in the far South-east, and from Gelibolu (Gallipoli) in the west to Ani on the Armenian border. I speak Turkish and spend at least a month there every year. 

Wales

I grew up in south Wales and have extensive knowledge of the south and west. Having lived in many places all across the country I am well placed for roundups, features, human interest pieces, and culture and history articles.

London

I have lived in London for fifteen years, spending my firefighting career all over the city, visiting many unusual locations and gaining expertise in local communities. I have particular expertise in east London, particulalry Walthamstow, and the Square Mile and South Bank.
