I am Associate Editor of this luxury travel publication which connects high- and ultra-high net worth individuals to luxury experiences around the world. I lead on luxury travel news, trendspotting and new hotel openings, in between tasks like reviewing skeet shooting at a Scottish Manor House and writing advertorial for one of the world's oldest whiskys.
I am at the final stage of commissioning with Bradt Guides, the world's largest publisher of independent guidebooks, to write a guidebook on the Turkish Riviera, from Izmir to Antalya.
I'm available to write advertorials, with areas of specialism including whisky, and luxury hotels, though I can turn my hand to your project easily. There's an example of my advertorial work for House of Hazlewoood here.
I have begun reviewing luxury hotels for this excellent website which brings the personal experiences of seasoned travel writers to readers looking for the very best stays locations have to offer. Check out my review of Cork's only five star hotel.
I'm delighted to be at the helm of this project to bring the best eats, stays, sights, and secrets of the Turkish Riviera to readers.
I was recently commissioned by Weathertotravel.com to write a piece on the thermal baths of Budapest. You can read the article here.
As a disabled writer from a working-class origin I was selected for the Intrepid Travel Diversifying the Travel Media trip 2024 to Faia Brava, Portugal. I've pitched an article on this to Adventure.com. Watch this space!
I was selected for the Talking Travel Writing 2024 mentorship scheme, and am currently being tutored by Guardian/Conde Nast/Times writer Antonia Windsor.
I won the Dun Laoghaire 1500 Prize for poetry, and have had numerous poems published, including by Plume Magazine, Nawr Magazine, One Hand Clapping Magazine, and the Hilton House Poet of the Year collection.
I’ve had two stage plays performed professionally, including performances at the QEH Theatre, Bristol, the London Festival of Visual Theatre and the Exeter Arts Festival.
My play 'Villanelle' received a minor UK tour. I also won the Heritage Arts Company Stones and Stories Radio Play competition.
I was shortlisted for the Spread The Word Life Writing Prize, and in 2023 I was shortlisted for the BBC Writersroom. I was also shortlisted for the 2022 Black Spring Press Bottom Draw prize.
I have taken writing courses with Curtis Brown Creative, High Tide Theatre Company, and Spread the Word, as well as taking professional editorial feed

I have taken writing courses with Curtis Brown Creative, High Tide Theatre Company, and Spread the Word, as well as taking professional editorial feedback from Industrial Scripts and the poet LIz Berry.
My BA (Hons) in drama also involved a specialisation in script writing.
I've published a personal account of my decision to leave my work in the London Fire Brigade where I led a team investigating and documenting the 72 deaths in the Grenfell Tower fire. It's a very personal piece, and I had some reservations about publishing it, but if it encourages one person who's struggling to speak up and look after themselves, then it will be worth it.
You can read the article here.
I have been working for Mandy.com and StarNow Magazine on a series of articles about theatre and acting. Some are still in the pipeline, but you can check out some of the published ones here.
I recently wrote for Weathertotravel.com on the thermal baths of Budapest.

I'm being mentored by the excellent Antonia Windsor to develop my writing after being selected for this prestigious scheme. The initial goal will be to build my knowledge of the travel writing industry while creating and strengthening networks, and starting to build that all-important portfolio of clippings.
The Matriarch Productions Grass Routes prize supports working class writers to develop and pitch a script to producres. It's headed up by the absolutely outstanding Stephen Graham (I'm a big fan!) and the excellent Hannah Walters (This is England). This would be a life-changing win for me, so fingers crossed!
I'm currently working on the first draft of a tv drama pilot with the working title 'Fire Man Doge'. Here's a draft logline:
In the dirty heart of London, Fire Man Doge investigates corruption in the fire brigade, but the flames of violence, deception and personal turmoil threaten to consume him as he strives to hide the opioid addiction that makes his PTSD survivable, protect his daughter from the criminal underworld, and extinguish the infernos within.
